Posted By hood fever On Wednesday, January 31st 2007 under: Rap News
From Undercover :
Michael Jackson has been urged to convert to Islam by his older brother Jermaine.
Jermaine, who starred in the Jackson Five with his younger brother, converted to Islam after a visit to Bahrain in the 1980s. He changed his name to Muhammad Abdul Aziz. Michael has spent some time in the tiny Gulf state since leaving America, and his brother believes he has given the idea of conversion some “serious thought”.
Jermaine is currently in the midst of a brief celebrity renaissance after coming second in the British version of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’. He became well liked by housemates and viewers for his relaxed, easygoing nature, something he would likely attribute to his faith.
“If I didn’t have Allah and my prayer rug, I would not have survived and the reason why is because it kept me focused, it kept me calm,” Jermaine told BBC Asia.
He went on to explain that his brother could also benefit from getting to know Allah; “Michael, I feel, needs to become a Muslim because I think it’s a great protection for him from all the things that he’s been attacked with, which are false … there’s a strength and protection there.”

Twista to Work with Lil Wayne & Just Blaze for New CD
Posted By hood fever On Saturday, January 27th 2007 under: Rap News
From SOHH
Twista is set to release his 7th studio album entitled Adrenaline Rush 2010 this summer.
The unnamed album, which is a follow-up to 2005’s platinum-selling The Day After, features guest appearances from Lil’ Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Pharell, Cee-Lo Green, Saigon and fellow Chicagoan R. Kelly. The disc is also rumored to include a collaboration between Twista and one-time rival act, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. The two have traded diss records in the past after both claiming to have originated the rapid-fire, staccato flow that they are known for, but have since squashed their beef.
The disc’s production will be primarily handled by long time collaborator The Lengendary Traxter and will also feature production from Just Blaze and Toxic.

Dr Dre to Operate On Papoose

From SOHH..
Word is spreading that Papoose may be working with Dr. Dre on his long anticipated debut, The Nacerima Dream.
Though his freshman LP is reportedly completed, Pap is still stacking up material. While the Brooklyn emcee has already worked with DJ Premier, Kanye West, DR Period and Pharrell Williams for the album, Dre may just make it into the final track listing.
“It ain’t final till it’s final,” Pap told SOHH regarding Dre’s production. “I got some joints though.”
Though a release date has yet to be set, Pap vows not to sit on the shelf this year. He promises that his record will sit amongst hip-hop classics once it finally hits stores.
“At the end of the day, my material, my music speaks for itself,” Pap explained. “I never came into this with no gimmick. I never had to diss nobody to get no attention. I always came with pure talent, pure material. I ain’t gon let ya’ll down with this album, straight up and down. My album gon’ make history.”
Papoose’s The Nacirema Dream is scheduled to hit stores later this year.
