Beyonce Knowles has thrown a surprise birthday party for her husband Jay-Z who turned 40 last Friday, on December 4. In making the big celebration happened, the “If I Were A Boy” singer was helped by her A-list fellow artists whom she flown from New York by private jet. The bash itself was held at the Casa de Campro resort in the Dominican Republic on the birthday date.

The party, which witnessed the venue being decked out like the home of Al Pacino’s Tony Montana, had a “Scarface” theme. For the meals, caviar and Dom Perignon champagne were served to treat the partygoers. The guests were also amused by the performances from Kanye West and P. Diddy. Meanwhile, the birthday man Jay-Z made his duet with Alicia Keys, singing “Empire State of Mind”.

Among the guests who attended the party were Kate Hudson, Alex Rodriguez, Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, Tory Burch, Swizz Beatz, Michael Kyser, Dream Hampton, and Oprah Winfrey who came along with her partner Stedman and her bestfriend Gail. Beyonce and Jay-Z’s parents were the guests of honor at the party.

At the end of the bash, a touching messages-from-friends video was displayed for the “I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)” rapper. It was followed by a magnificent fireworks at midnight with synchronized swimmers dancing in the villa’s pool. The next day, guests were treated once again with a brunch barbecue during when Beyonce showed her skill behind the grill. The pleasure didn’t stop yet as guests were taken to the seas on a private yacht.

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z have been in relationship since 2002. After several years of togetherness, the two got married at a private ceremony in New York City on April 4, 2008. Beyonce herself first showed off her wedding ring at the Fashion Rocks concert in New York, on September 5 the same year.
