Posted By hood fever On Friday, October 9th 2009 under: Celebrity, Reviews Tags: usherHERE IS HOW TMZ IS REPORTING THE SCOOP
Law enforcement sources tell us when officers arrived at the scene, Tameka Raymond was nowhere to be found.
Police later interviewed both Tameka and Usher — but determined there was no evidence or witnesses to substantiate Usher’s claim.
But the drama didn’t end there — law enforcement sources tell us Usher called the cops on Tameka a second time several days later, complaining that Tameka again got onto his property and wouldn’t leave. By the time cops arrived, Tameka had already split.
Usher filed for divorce back in June … but it hasn’t been finalized just yet.
UPDATE: TMZ just received the following statement from Tameka’s rep: “This is just another attempt to disparage Tameka. It’s simply an angry ploy that has no merit.”
WAS KANDI BURRESS’ EX-FIANCE AJ KILLED FOR SLEEPING WITH THIS BROAD?
Posted By hood fever On Tuesday, October 6th 2009 under: Beef, Celebrity, Reviews, Site Updates Tags: aj, KANDI BURRUSS EX FIANCE, KANDI BURUSS
According to bossip.com, Kandi Buress’ ex-fiance, AJ was having a steamy love affair with the woman in this picture. Sources say that this woman, Veronica M. Jones, is co-owner of Atlanta based strip club, Body Tap. Veronica’s current boyfriend Fredrick “Cornbread” Richardson caught wind of the situation and was pissed! AJ and Cornbread got into a scuffle that overflowed to the parking lot where AJ was allegedly hit in the head with a beer bottle and stomped out. AJ later passed away at Piedmont Hospital from massive head injuries. No chick is worth your life but by the looks of this one what the hell was AJ or “Cornbread” thinking? All we can say is DAMN another life gone over some BS!
Top 7 Reasons Your Album Doesn’t Sell
Posted By hood fever On Monday, March 17th 2008 under: Reviews
1. Your Music Sucks.
The first and most obvious reason. If your music sucks you won’t sell any albums, plain and simple (although I’ve seen some artists that suck and still sell but we’ll go over that in some of the other points).
2. You don’t have a catchy tune.
Believe it or not one-hit wonders do sell. Take the Baha Men for example, they are mostly if not only known for their hit song “Who Let The Dogs Out” which won a Grammy Award and a Billboard Music Award but they soon faded when they couldn’t provide another hit song. I don’t condone this but if you can only pull one good track out of your ass it might as well be one that will be stuck in peoples heads forever.
3. You’ve been known to put out disappointing albums in the past.
If you have a bad track record why would people want to waste their money on your product again? Fool me once shame on you etc etc.

Ok Kanye Is Gonna Win. Kanye VS Curtis
Posted By hood fever On Sunday, August 12th 2007 under: Reviews
I’ve made my decision, KANYE IS GONNA WIN. If I’m wrong then … Well I won’t be wrong. Kanye is currently beating Curtis on iTunes with preorders and whatnot, This story Just got to TOP 10 on digg, YOU HEAR THAT, IT GOT ON DIGG, WHERE IT WILL BE SEEN BY THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THAT WANT 50 CENT TO QUIT. I mean, the only way 50 Cent could win now is if he spends all his own money buying his own album multiple times. I’m tellin you man, All the polls I’ve seen online about “Who will win Kanye or 50 Cent” Kanye has been winning!!! For example on mixtorrent Kanye is currently in the lead with 53% (2961 votes) and 50 Cent is trailing behind with 47% (2634 votes). Curtis will probably come up with some lame excuse like interscope did a poor job of promoting his album and leaked his tracks / videos. Oh ya go buy Kanye’s Album!! Buy one for your siblings and your moms and your pops too. Good day to all, don’t let 50’s bs music prevail.

What Makes a Good Hip Hop Album ?
Posted By hood fever On Tuesday, April 10th 2007 under: Reviews
Some would say it’s all about killer lyrics, others would say they can’t get through an album without good beats, but what really makes a good hip hop album ? Well it takes more then a few good singles and some filler tracks thats for sure. I surveyed some of the top hip hop bloggers from around the web what they think makes a good hip hop album and here are their responses (well at least the ones that replied to me lol)..
KINGGS from illRoots says :
First of all, Subject matter that is at a constant change. thats the most important thing. You also need to be lyrically talented to a above average level. You should try to loop in a good theme, but never cross the line an become a gimmick. add some good production and there you have it.
Enigmatik from Boo Goo Doo Boom says :
A good hip hop album has to have strong lyrical content first and foremost. Combine the dope lyrics with an excellently produced musical backdrop and you’re almost there. The album should be cohesive as well and not just a random collection of songs. If the artist creating the album does so with the intent on making a classic rather than simply a hit, I believe that they will at the very least put out a good hip hop album.
Fresh From 33jones says :
A good hip hop album to my ears is one that has a cohesive sound from start to finish: one production team doing the majority of the beats and the MC(s) focusing on a general theme throughout the album. Without that, even if all the tracks are dope, its just a good collection of singles rather than a good “album.” For me, it would be an album that relies heavily on samples and contains at least several verses that have me hitting the rewind button to hear them again. A good hip hop album is hard to find these days.
John from RealTalkNY says :
Whats makes a good album is diversity. A great album has tracks that have you ready to hit the club along with songs that will have you reflecting on life. Listening to a great album is like like reading a good book, it brings a range of emotions and feelings.
eskay from Nah Right says :
I’d have to say cohesiveness. The songs should compliment each other or at least flow into each other well. Obviously the material, lyrics and accompanying beats, have to be up to par. The artist should have some kind of depth. Whether it be depth while talking about selling dope, or a deep conversation with his audience about saving the world, they should be saying something.
Gotty from The Smoking Section says :
- pushes the current limits in lyrics – way of spit;/phrasing, content
- Ex – Illmatic, Paid In Full, By Any Means Neccessary.
- pushes the current limits in production – introduces a new sound,
even if minimal, while still working w/the boom-bap elements -
scratches, heavy basslines, samples – Pete & CL – Main Ingredient,
damn near anything out of Gangstarr’s catalog.
- cohesive in mindstate expressed or theme(s). Ex – OBFCL, Scarface’s
catalog but especially The Fix
- a good fuckin title lol.
M.Dot from Model Minority says :
3 Things that it takes to make a dope album.
1.A Hot Cover.
Come on.
a. The Carter, that clean @ssed Bently or whatever luxury vehicle he was
standing in front of.
b. Midnight Marauders. All them faces. That sh* looked like a labor of love.
c. OB4CL. Not only was the cover fresh w/ ghost and rae, but a purple tape.
Hotness.
2. A Controversial Track.
Nothing gets sh*t cracking like controversy.
Hip Hop is Dead had Black Republicans.
Game had Never Get Far.
Ye ye had Gold Digger.
That One Song.
a. You know that song that makes you cover your mouth and your eyes get big,
b/c
1. You can’t believe he freaked that sample.
2. You can’t beleive he said that in the rhyme.
3. You can’t believe Primo came THAT hard on a beat.
Tell me Im wrong.
LOL.
What do you think makes a good hip hop album?? Leave you opinions in the comments.

Top 25 Hip-Hop Albums To Look For In 2007
Posted By hood fever On Sunday, March 11th 2007 under: Rap News, Reviews
1. Wu-Tang Clan – 8 Diagrams
The Wu’s new album that is set to release this year and I don’t think I can wait another minute to hear.
2. Common – Finding Forever
After dropping “Be” he will have a hard time topping it, but the fact he is getting better overtime may just make that possible.
3. Lupe Fiasco – The Cool
If this is half as good as “Food And Liquor” then it will still be something to look forward to in music.
4. Raekwon – Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II
So he hasn’t dropped a all around good album since ob4cl, well he claims this sequel lives up to its legacy.
5. Talib Kweli – Ear Drum
One of my favorite emcees in the game, and with listen as the first single I expect much from this release.
6. Little Brother – The Getback
I’m curious to see what LB can do without 9th Wonder, this should be something to look forward to in ‘07 no doubt.
7. Pharoahe Monch – Desire
If his recent mixtape “The Awakening” is a preview of whats to come, then this could turn out to be a very solid drop.
8. OutKast – 10 The Hard Way
Despite there last album being average, they still have a catalogue like no other.
9. Saigon – The Greatest Story Never Told
In my opinion the best new artist from NY, all his mixtapes are solid and I expect nothing less with this.
10. Dr. Dre – Detox
Another long awaited lp set to release, If Dre spent all that time putting this together (almost 7 years) then I’m almost sure it will be a damn good album.
11. One Be Lo – L.I.F.E.
This should be something really special, since One Be Lo mentions it in both albums and he says that both albums were just preludes to this Lp. Both albums were dope as hell, so I can only imagine how dope this record will be.
12. Papoose – The Nacirema Dream
Another highly anticipated album, if Pap can manage to keep the mixtape fans happy by putting out some new music for ND, then this will be a good album.
13. Kanye West – Graduation
Two albums into the game of hip-hop and both are very good albums at that, saying that this will be one of the most anticipated in ‘07.
14. Hieroglyphics – Over Time
This is long awaited, the two albums that they have released are excellent and I must hear this asap point blank period.
15. Canibus – Nothing To Prove
Rip The Jacker is back, this time around he is rumored to being working with DJ Premier on Poet Laureate Infinite, a sequel to a legendary track, the least I can say is I’m waiting for this.
16. Redman – Red Gone Wild/Muddy Waters II
Set to release two albums this year Redman is out for blood and he claims to being back to his old P funk style.
17. Ghostface & MF DOOM – Swift & Changeable
Two of my most favorite rappers getting together, if there past work together is any indication then this will be a great album.
18. Joe Budden – The Growth
If this album actually drops this time around, I will be one of the first to buy it, if its anything like Mood Muzik II then it should be a great record.
19. Vakill – Armor Of God
Another highly anticipated album for me, I really love his discography so far and I expect this to continue his track record of quality.
20. Beanie Sigel – The Return of the Bad Guy
His last album ‘The B.Coming’ was (in my opinion) a classic, I expect nothing less from this.
21. Cormega – The Inevitable
Formally known as “Urban Legend” (changed for obvious reasons) will be a good addition to ‘07 no doubt.
22. Guru – Jazzmatazz Volume IV
One of my favorite emcees and also one of my favorite lp series. I really cant wait another minute for this.
23. Reef the Lost Cauze – A Vicious Cycle
He hasn’t dropped a album in two years, and his last (feast or famine) was a damn good record, that being said, I cant wait for this one.
24. Rhymefest – El Che
I’m going to be honest, I slept on his debut lp (Blue Collar) for a long time and I’m embarrassed I did, Because it was ill stuff, thats exactly what I expect from this.
25. Ludacris – Theater Of The Mind
His two latest albums were average, considerably below average for luda’s standards, but there is no reason he can’t make a come back this time around, I know I’m hoping for it.
Honorable mentions:
Killah Priest – The Offering
Nas – The Lost Tapes 2*
NaS – The N*
Rakim – The Seventh Seal*
T.I. – T.I. vs. T.I.P.
UGK – Underground Kingz
Immortal Technique – The Middle Passage
Devin the Dude – Waiting to Inhale
Kool G Rap – Half a Klip
Zion I – Street Legends
Prodigy of Mobb Deep – H.N.I.C. 2

Joell Ortiz – Brick
El-P – I’ll Sleep When You’re Dead
Evidence – Weatherman
Fabolous – From Nothin’ To Somethin’
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony – Strength and Loyalty
Guilty Simpson – The Verdict
*Not on the top 25 list because I dont think its coming out
Any album which is not on the list is either (1) not worthy (2) I don’t know about the albums releasing or (3) has no name at this time.
