Katt Williams Gets Probation For Weapons Charges

Katt Williams

Comedian Katt Williams was recently sentenced to three years probation after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor charge of carrying a concealed firearm.

As previously reported by SOHH, the comedian was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on November 6 after police found a gun in his luggage. Authorities alleged that the weapon was stolen and also charged Williams with other undisclosed offenses.

According to the Associated Press, Williams has been ordered by the judge to pay restitution and was given credit for the three days that he spent in jail as a result of his arrest, according to a statement by Jane Robinson, a district attorney spokesperson.

Though this case has been resolved, the funny man also faces a separate weapons charge in Michigan. Williams recently saw a judge delay a decision in which it would be decided if he would face felony charges stemming from a 2005 incident in which two taser guns were allegedly found in his checked luggage as he was leaving a Kalamazoo, Michigan airport.
