Top 25 Hip-Hop Albums To Look For In 2007

1. Wu-Tang Clan - 8 Diagrams
The Wu’s new album that is set to release this year and I don’t think I can wait another minute to hear.

2. Common - Finding Forever
After dropping “Be” he will have a hard time topping it, but the fact he is getting better overtime may just make that possible.

3. Lupe Fiasco - The Cool
If this is half as good as “Food And Liquor” then it will still be something to look forward to in music.

4. Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II
So he hasn’t dropped a all around good album since ob4cl, well he claims this sequel lives up to its legacy.

5. Talib Kweli - Ear Drum
One of my favorite emcees in the game, and with listen as the first single I expect much from this release.

6. Little Brother - The Getback
I’m curious to see what LB can do without 9th Wonder, this should be something to look forward to in ‘07 no doubt.

7. Pharoahe Monch - Desire
If his recent mixtape “The Awakening” is a preview of whats to come, then this could turn out to be a very solid drop.

8. OutKast - 10 The Hard Way
Despite there last album being average, they still have a catalogue like no other.

9. Saigon - The Greatest Story Never Told
In my opinion the best new artist from NY, all his mixtapes are solid and I expect nothing less with this.

10. Dr. Dre - Detox
Another long awaited lp set to release, If Dre spent all that time putting this together (almost 7 years) then I’m almost sure it will be a damn good album.

11. One Be Lo - L.I.F.E.
This should be something really special, since One Be Lo mentions it in both albums and he says that both albums were just preludes to this Lp. Both albums were dope as hell, so I can only imagine how dope this record will be.

12. Papoose - The Nacirema Dream
Another highly anticipated album, if Pap can manage to keep the mixtape fans happy by putting out some new music for ND, then this will be a good album.

13. Kanye West - Graduation
Two albums into the game of hip-hop and both are very good albums at that, saying that this will be one of the most anticipated in ‘07.

14. Hieroglyphics - Over Time
This is long awaited, the two albums that they have released are excellent and I must hear this asap point blank period.

15. Canibus - Nothing To Prove
Rip The Jacker is back, this time around he is rumored to being working with DJ Premier on Poet Laureate Infinite, a sequel to a legendary track, the least I can say is I’m waiting for this.

16. Redman - Red Gone Wild/Muddy Waters II
Set to release two albums this year Redman is out for blood and he claims to being back to his old P funk style.

17. Ghostface & MF DOOM - Swift & Changeable
Two of my most favorite rappers getting together, if there past work together is any indication then this will be a great album.

18. Joe Budden - The Growth
If this album actually drops this time around, I will be one of the first to buy it, if its anything like Mood Muzik II then it should be a great record.

19. Vakill - Armor Of God
Another highly anticipated album for me, I really love his discography so far and I expect this to continue his track record of quality.

20. Beanie Sigel - The Return of the Bad Guy
His last album ‘The B.Coming’ was (in my opinion) a classic, I expect nothing less from this.

21. Cormega - The Inevitable
Formally known as “Urban Legend” (changed for obvious reasons) will be a good addition to ‘07 no doubt.

22. Guru - Jazzmatazz Volume IV
One of my favorite emcees and also one of my favorite lp series. I really cant wait another minute for this.

23. Reef the Lost Cauze - A Vicious Cycle
He hasn’t dropped a album in two years, and his last (feast or famine) was a damn good record, that being said, I cant wait for this one.

24. Rhymefest - El Che
I’m going to be honest, I slept on his debut lp (Blue Collar) for a long time and I’m embarrassed I did, Because it was ill stuff, thats exactly what I expect from this.

25. Ludacris - Theater Of The Mind
His two latest albums were average, considerably below average for luda’s standards, but there is no reason he can’t make a come back this time around, I know I’m hoping for it.

Honorable mentions:

Killah Priest - The Offering
Nas - The Lost Tapes 2*
NaS - The N*
Rakim - The Seventh Seal*

*Not on the top 25 list because I dont think its coming out

Any album which is not on the list is either (1) not worthy (2) I don’t know about the albums releasing or (3) has no name at this time.
